The ESRI Geoportal Extension Search Gadget enables you to discover, view, and access geospatial resources registered with a Geoportal. These resources may include live map services that you can view online, data files you can download, or applications you can use.

You can subscribe to the search using a GeoRSS Feed and be notified in your RSS reader when new content is available at the Geoportal.

If you'd like to view the search results in a KML-enabled geobrowser such as ESRI ArcGIS Explorer, save the results as a KML file.
